Building
Six open-source projects in various states of done. The two that are absorbing most of my time right now:
- longhaul — getting the MCP server conformant against the 2026-07-28 release-candidate spec, which moved to a stateless core and a Tasks extension that changes how long-running operations surface to clients. The signature test (round-robining a task lifecycle across two independent server instances sharing only SQLite) is passing; polish and docs are next.
- millstone — the retrieval bench harness is done and green; the actual corpus runs haven't executed yet. Running them on the local GPU server means scheduling them around other workloads and not fabricating numbers in the meantime. The case-study results table fills in when the runs do.
Writing
Three posts are up in writing: the redcell security sweep, the callcheck taxonomy, and the millstone crossover argument. The case-study pages for each project will be updated as bench runs complete — the posts link to them so the gap is visible.
Focus
Agent infrastructure that runs locally. The value proposition of self-hosted inference gets clearer the more time you spend on the operational details — latency, privacy routing, cost model, the fact that your embedding model going stale doesn't invalidate your entire index. I'm working through what that means for each layer of the stack.
Not doing
Not available for contract work right now. Not on social media in any active way. If you want to reach me, email is the right channel.
